Left 4 Dead Game Incoming but…in VR?

Valve told us they wanted to start making games again and displayed that with the shoddy release of the microtransaction heavy card battler, Artifact. Artifact failed to make any waves in the card game genre, and left more players upset than thrilled, especially those looking forward to some new Valve games. They did however recently announce a new entry into the Half Life franchise, something fans have been begging for for nearly a decade now. The only issue is it is going to be a new VR title in Half Life: Alyx. Alyx looks to be like a solid stand alone title, I mean cmahn, we wanted Half Life at least we’re getting something in the post apocalyptic future within this realm. Valve is doubling down with their VR releases with the latest announcement that the next Left 4 Dead game, another franchise fans have been begging to re-explore, will be a Virtual Reality title.

The last we got to see from the Half-Life franchise was all the way back in 2007 when Half-Life 2: Episode 2 released in the Orange Box. Left 4 Dead 2 came out a few years later in 2009, so we are looking at over a decade of silence from Valve for each franchise. Fans are fucking frothing at their mouths right now with some being upset with the latest VR announcements. Half-Life: Alyx will be releasing in March 2020, so I guess all we can really do is hope for the best. I am sure if Alyx performs well, it will alleviate some of the weight off everyone’s shoulders, and we can ideally expect Left 4 Dead VR to be a solid outing as well. Please, Gaben, just give us non-VR titles, I’ve given you so much of my money is CS:GO Cases, can;t you just pay it forward a little.
