Summer Game Fest: Xbox To Release 60+ Free Game Demos Alongside Their July Showcase

Other publishers are showing off game trailers, and that’s all fine and good, but Xbox has officially announced that they’re releasing over 60 game demos for Xbox One in conjunction with their July reveal event.

The demos will be available from July 21st to July 27th, will all be free, and will all be for unreleased Xbox games. Pretty goddamn sweet. Microsoft did want us to keep in mind, though, that many of these demos will be quite early, which means some of the demos could still be Alpha (or pre-Alpha), and not be as representative of the final product as most “Demos” are.

Here are the confirmed game demos so far:

  • Cris Tales
  • Destroy All Humans!
  • Haven
  • Hellpoint
  • Skatebird
  • The Vale
  • Raji
  • Welcome to Elk

All in all, this is one of the coolest moves I’ve seen in 2020 to really make up for the “convention experience” that many gamers make pilgrimages for this time of year. The fact that we’ll be able to get hands-on time with DOZENS of unreleased titles is just incredible, and really shows how far Xbox is willing to go to earn customer trust.

Xbox has confirmed that more demos will be revealed in the coming weeks as we get closer to the July 21st showcase date.
