The Coolest Pokemon Stuff to Know From the Game Freak Leak (so far)

Well, it happened. Another huge gaming leak, bigger than any leak before, with a whopping 1 TERABYTE of data to sift through. This one is for the biggest IP in the world, Pokemon. Word on the internet streets is a Game Freak employee was the victim of a phishing attack, where a hacker will attempt to bait a user into giving up login details to access private information. I won’t be posting any private information on the employees that were leaked for obvious reasons. But here’s what I found was the most interesting out of all news from the leaks so far.

The “Official” Origin of the Pokemon Universe

Pastebin copy in case the tweet is gone: https://pastebin.com/RqitK9kE

We kind of already knew that the Pokemon universe came from Arceus, but what we didn’t know was how all the others took a role in the creation of the world of Pokemon. Game Freak had this dug deep in their archives, which includes “pseudo-legendaries” like Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Metagross. I would take this with a grain of salt though. Since this was never fully revealed, it may be non-canon.

Was Pokemon going to be scary? I guess at one point, yes. But damn, that bunny starter looks rad!

The Fan Art

The beta bunny starter has received a lot of love from fans all over Twitter. Would you have preferred if they included them instead of Mudkip in Gen 3? Comment down below this article!

The Black and White beta protagonists have some serious swag going on, and I hope to see more of these styles in the future.

Pokemon Mainline Game Fans Just Can’t Have Nice Things I Guess

Okay, this video makes me think of how much better the 3D shift for Pokemon could have felt if they went in this direction with the battle animations. Ever since the 3DS era and the shift from sprites to 3D models, the mainline Pokemon game’s quality has been declining. The team for Pokemon has largely remained the same for years, with around 50 devs for all of Game Freak. For the largest, most profitable franchise in the world, you would think that daddy Nintendo and Mr. Pikachu would want to put more bodies on the project to make a more polished game. From low amounts of life in animations, low res textures, camera glitches, frame rate stutters, and overall just a jank feeling out of what should otherwise be an excellent game. I can think of no other title that needed more time than Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Game Freak did have a lot of job postings lately, so maybe, hopefully, fingers crossed we get a more polished game for the next gen.

SPOILER ALERT: Leaks on Upcoming Pokemon Projects

Skip this section if you don’t want to be spoiled on upcoming releases!

Generation 10 has been confirmed to be in development as of this leak. Not that we didn’t already assume so. Currently, the placeholder names for the versions are K and N. It’s theme will be an island archipelago, which makes me think that maybe it will take place in the Caribbean since it’s such a famous location. What’s interesting though, is that Game Freak seems to be testing a version for the current Switch and the Switch 2.

Megas have also been confirmed for Pokemon Legends Z-A. Leaked new megas include Mega Zygarde, and Mega Zeraora.

There’s also some new movies and shows in the works, like a sequel to Detective Pikachu, a live action Netflix show, and a new animated movie.

Stay tuned for more updates on these leaks, or any other unfiltered news here on Wicked Good Gaming!
