Twitch Stays on Top…of Hypocrisy

Awwwww shit here we go again. Another week another example of Twitch being hypocritic favoritists when it comes to implementing their terms of service equally. Last week the Vtubers got kneecapped with a new TOS update practically targeting their NSFW content. To be fair, I am not a Vtuber guy, I prefer real skin over pixels (my girlfriend’s only!), but watching Twitch basically go straight for the Vtuber wallets while still hard pushing real NSFW hot tub bikini streams on the front page is yet another example of their incompetence, tremendous levels of favoritism and blatant hypocrisy. I still standby my view point that Twitch should remain a primarily, gaming first platform and if they want to allow for NSFW content to make an additional tab or some shit requiring ID verification for more adult orientated content. I never thought I would see the day where I say this, BUT I STAND WITH THE VTUBERS!!!

Anyway, back to more pressing matters when it comes to Twitch’s hypocrisy. As many people know Asmongold was recently banned for his statements against the middle east (which we do not share and I hate that I have to state this because we’ve had Asmon on the podcast before). He lost his business in OTK, he lost partnerships, was banned on Twitch and the worst of all had so much extra time on his hands, he finally cleaned his dredge pit of a kitchen sink. Apparently, after he made other stupid statements on Reddit then tried for some damage control and apologized. Is he truly sorry for his words or is he just sorry they found consequences? I do not know, but he got what was coming to him regardless. Here we are just days later with essentially the exact opposite vitriolic response in which Frogan (a mod of Hasan’s and a Twitch Rising Star) decided to impart their radical ideologies against our military and more specifically its veterans to a few dozen viewers. You can watch the clip HERE .

Just so we are all on the same page here. A livestreamer who lives in the US decides to bash the military, going so far as to wish PTSD upon them. This is one hell of an interesting take, but hey we live in the US where freedom of speech exists. I wonder who protects those freedoms for us? Oh wait, its our military! I am very open when it comes to my disdain for our current and future government and how it genuinely comes across that they are failing us citizens, but to attack the people who give their lives for our freedoms is remarkable. I have plenty of family and friends who have served, some of them still suffering from PTSD to this day and to wish that upon someone is truly monstrous. Hell our very own Tiggy is a in the military! If you want to go to some hippies basement, smoke some mid weed and live in the echo chamber of anti militarism then be my guest, but pushing this rhetoric to an audience is harmful and outright disrespectful. It’s also, put simply, against Twitch’s terms of Service. I am not someone to put on a witch hunt because I don’t even know this person, but TOS is TOS is TOS is TOS and time and time again we see Twitch enforce it in a very selective manner. As of right now this breach of the Twitch TOS has no effect on her channel as it is still not banned and alleged attempts to report it for hateful conduct have been shot down instantly. Another day of Twitch favoritism and even more blatant hypocrisy. Everyone just needs to do better. How hard is it to just be a decent person? As we always say on the podcast…just play videogames man.

To be fair, this pic with Serj does go hard. Still dumb statement

For any and all service members who are struggling with PTSD, you are worth it, and we cannot thank you enough for protecting our rights as Americans. These people who go out of their way to proliferate hate towards you, do not represent the gaming community as a whole.
