Pokémon TCG’s Latest Blockbuster Chase Card Price Is JUICED Before The Set Even Releases
It’s been a while before we’ve had a good “grown men beat the fuck out of each other in a Target parking lot over Pokémon cads” video, but I have a bad feeling we’re gonna get those this coming Friday when the newest set, Prismatic Evolutions, launches on December 17th.
Don’t believe me? Let’s check in real quick on how the biggest chase card in the set, yet another special art rare of Umbreon, is already doing on eBay (five days prior to the set’s release)…
Now, this should come as no surprise to anyone. Local game stores will often get these sets early and break down several booster boxes so that they can advertise and sell singles… But holy Santa Claus shit this is insane.
If you aren’t familiar with modern Pokémon TCG, you’ll be shocked to know that one of the most coveted cards in recent history is yet another Umbreon, commonly referred to as a “Moonbreon”, which is from the Evolving Skies box set which released a few years back. That particular card still goes for THOUSANDS online, and is considered one of the last truly sought after and impossibly rare cards. But it looks like a worthy successor could be primed to knock it off it’s throne.
