Riftbound’s T1 Worlds Signature Edition Lottery Opens TOMORROW (August 14th)
Oh yes, there will be blood.
If you haven’t been following the podcast, you may not have heard us talk about Riftbound at all lately. Well, the blog’s back now too (everybody say “thanks Dom”) so we’ll be keeping you in the loop on important Riftbound news as well. Tiggy I’m sure will want to start dipping the quill again too – and he’s way more tapped in than I am – so be on the lookout for that.
Now the reason why we’re here, and that’s to hopefully get chosen for a chance to spend $350-500 on T1-branded cardboard. That’s right folks, Faker and the boys are coming to Riftbound. Arguably the most dominant esports athlete in history is getting his own card. Arguably one of the best teams ever assembled in League of Legends history are getting theirs too. As far as I know, this has never happened at a magnitude of this scale. I’m sure there’s been esports athlete cards before, but nothing even CLOSE to this.
Pokémon TCG prints useless commemorative decks after each finals that mirror finalists’ winning decks (I say useless because, for whatever reason, those cards are specially marked so that they’re illegal to use in constructed play). I also remember a good friend (shoutout Joe Unplugged) telling me that Magic the Gathering prints special cards for their grand champions too. But this is way different. An autographed, signature trading card that features the player AND their Champion of choice… In one big set… My god this is going to be a hot ticket item.
The set ($360+tax and shipping), which only 10,125 lucky people will get their hands on, includes:
Doran – Ambessa, The Wolf
Faker – Galio, Indefatigable
Gumayusi – Miss Fortune, Buccaneer
Keria – Seraphine, Not Alone
Oner – Xin Zhao, Vigilant
Each set will include one of the above cards at random serialized with a number from 1 to 2025 with a gold-stamped signature.
So, gather up your lucky charms. Strap on your lucky rabbit’s feet, sit on a horseshoe, wish upon a star, whatever you gotta do. The drawing starts tomorrow… I’ll see you among the mess.
