Overwatch League MVP Sinatraa is Leaving Overwatch to Play Valorant. RIP OW
ESPN: Reigning Overwatch League MVP and 2019 Overwatch World Cup champion Jay “Sinatraa” Won will retire from competitive Overwatch and instead now compete in VALORANT as a part of esports organization Sentinels, sources familiar with the player’s plans told ESPN.
What’s that in the casket? I think it’s Overwatch
This is a giant blow to Overwatch. World Cup Champion with team USA, League MVP, Champion with San Franciso Shock.. It all don’t mean shit. Sinatraa is saying tootaloo to NRG and Overwatch and saying hello to Sentinels Valorant team. The 20 year old stud is making a gigantic move.
Sinatraa is the first Overwatch player to make this change, and he definitely won’t be the last. Esport pros are putting all their eggs into the Valorant basket, so we can only hope it pans out. Apparently there are some big paychecks getting tossed at these players. In a game that is still in closed beta. But then again, if the games top player is calling it quits to explore other options, what will stop middle of the pack players from doing the same. Time will tell.
Also I love that they call it “retiring” – son he is LEAVING your game.
