Goddamnit I’m Excited About An Assassin’s Creed Game Again
Ahead of E3 2018, Ubisoft has confirmed (and teased) the existence and forthcoming release of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

Alright, alright – that was fucking cool.
It doesn’t take a sixth-grade history teacher to surmise that the “Odyssey” in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s title most likely refers to the sequel to Homer’s Ancient Greek epic poem – The Iliad. Also, we’ve got one guy kicking someone off a cliff à la 300, which leads me to believe we’re going to get thrown right in the middle of some of the most epic (in the historical and cinematic sense) moments and events in Ancient Greek history. Color me intrigued.
Not gonna lie, folks – I haven’t played an AC game since the original four, and I truly haven’t felt “grabbed” by the themes and settings of any other game in the franchise since. I played a little bit of Black Flag, but that just didn’t get my rocks off the same way Altair and Ezio’s sagas did. I am, however, extremely interested in this setting – and seeing what I’ve seen of Assassin’s Creed: Origins’ ballsy move of dabbling into the more mythological and mystical elements of ancient history – one can only hope AC: Odyssey will do the same… We’ll just have to wait until E3 2018 to find out for sure.
