Tony Hawk Confirms THPS 3+4 Remakes Were Shelved By Activision’s Purchase of Vicarious Visions

On a recent stream of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 with legendary THPS and Guitar Hero designer Andy Gentile, the Birdman himself confirmed what many of us have long feared, that THPS 3+4 were in the works… But have been shelved indefinitely.

The GOAT went on to say that he “wished” he could make everything happen the way they originally planned, but to never say never. He mentioned that it’s still mind blowing that THPS 1+2 was made after two decades, so anything is possible.

There were multiple cries for an Underground remaster from the Twitch chat as well as the other folks who were streaming with Andy and Tony, and I can’t help but wonder if there’s been talks around that as well. Tony Hawk elaborated that Activision “shopped around” the THPS brand and went to a number of developers to see how they’d handle the franchise, but “didn’t hear anything they liked”.

Given the success of THPS 1+2, I firmly believe a Tony Hawk Underground remake would be absolutely killer. Only time will tell if these plans will be brought back to life, but until that time… Fuck Eric Sparrow.
