Animal Crossing: New Horizons Has A Free Pocket Camp Event Starting Today

From right now until April 1st, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp now has an Island Excursion Invite Event, which is poised to get folks prepared for the arrival of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I’m over here sitting on mandatory WFH and quarantine due to this fucking virus, so believe me when I say that this game cannot get here fast enough.

Luckliy, Nintendo’s giving players an early taste of that relaxing island lifestyle without the need for long TSA lines or threat of global pandemic with special (and free) in-game events themed after New Horizons.

Nook Inc. is hosting a Fishing Tourney that’ll earn players in-game rewards for their campsites, and it’ll also give Pocket Camp enthusiasts a chance to capture some critters, collect items, and utilize themes that would otherwise be exclusive to New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons arrives on March 20th, 2020 – and dear Christ it can’t get here fast enough.
