Animal Crossing: New Horizons Has Officially Outsold Every Mario And Zelda Title At Launch
Per a report from VentureBeat via the NPD Group, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is already the #2 best-selling video game of the year for the United States, just behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
New Horizons is also already the highest-selling game in the Animal Crossing franchise, and comes in #3 all-time for US Nintendo launches – slotting in right behind Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Switch) and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Not bad for a game that came out exactly one month ago.
With everything going on in the world right now, it’s not hard to see why ACNH took off the way it did. It’s a charming, relaxing, leisurely game that was already hotly anticipated by series die-hards, and it’s the perfect escape from this day-to-day hellworld that we call planet earth.
