HyperX and AIC Hotels Partner To Debut The World’s First Hotel Gaming Lounge At The Hard Rock Hotel in Mexico

You guys may not know this about me, but I love being on vacation. I’m a huge travel guy, and I’ll take every opportunity I can get to escape my own four walls and see the world. I typically bring my Nintendo Switch with me wherever I go, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss some of my other favorite PC and console games while I’m on the road (or on an island).

Today, AIC Hotels and HyperX seem to have launched a solution for gamers like me who are on the go and find themselves needing a fix.

As the landscape of gaming, music, and entertainment continue to rapidly become one single universal experience, AIC Hotel Group, the experiential hospitality group housing influential brands and offering unmatched vacation experiences, partners with HyperX™, the gaming division of HP Inc. and top choice of high-performance gaming peripherals, to introduce HyperX Gaming Lounge — the first-ever resort HyperX gaming lounge for leisure travelers in the Mexican Caribbean. The HyperX Gaming Lounge Riviera Maya debuts today exclusively for guests of Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, open Monday-Sunday from 2PM-12AM to all guests ages 10 and up.

Naturally, the place is absolutely decked out in HyperX accessories and decor, and features a massive library of PC and console games to appeal to any age and type of gamer.

Titles present at today’s launch of the HyperX Gaming Lounge include:

  • Minecraft
  • Among Us

  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Rocket League
  • Valorant
  • Hearthstone
  • Apex Legends
  • League of Legends
  • Dota 2
  • Warzone
  • Fortnite
  • FIFA 22
  • Madden NFL 22
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Pokémon

The lounge is outfitted with nine gaming PCs, three Xbox Series X consoles, two Nintendo Switches, and even a VR station.

I remember being a kid and absolutely losing my mind when I stayed at a hotel and it had some sort of game room or arcade nearby. One year on New Years Eve, my family went away to some nice mountain resort – and I found an Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 arcade cabinet within a few hours of being there. I probably burnt all of my parent’s cash intended for tipping bartenders and housekeepers on that goddamn thing.

Now, gamers of all ages can get away from their getaway for a little bit while they’re in sunny Riviera Maya and game. You absolutely love to see it.

I guess it’s time to book my next vacation…
