PGA 2K25’s Shooter McGavin Pack Is The Best Pre-Order Bonus I’ve Ever Seen

I have seen a lot of great pre-order bonuses in my day, but thousands and thousands more that were absolutely horrendous. I personally cannot stand when games are sold piecemeal and have extensive chapters and stories available on day one that should’ve been included in the game, but I do love when companies get creative to incentivize fan excitement early.

In this case, we’ve got a hole in one.

PGA 2K23 had a TON of playable celebrity characters in the past, including John Cena and Michael Jordan, and in a press release, 2K also confirmed that you’ll be able to step into the legendary Shooter McGavin’s shoes in PGA 2K25 as well, in more ways than one:

Christopher McDonald, who will reprise his role as Shooter McGavin in “Happy Gilmore 2,” expected to be released later this year, will be a playable character in PGA TOUR 2K25.

SHOOTAH!!! Well, pretty much. Technically this is the “Chris McDonald” pre-order pack, which is a clever way for 2K to avoid having to pay any licensing fees or whatever, I’m sure. As long as we can get a “shooter” emote, I’ll be happy.

The pack also includes the Extra Butter x Happy Gilmore collab merch line that came out a few years ago, which is a nice touch. And speaking of touch… Let’s see if ol’ Shooter’s still got it:
