RAGE 2’s First Gameplay Trailer Invites Us To Party ‘Til We Puke
In case you haven’t shopped online at Walmart lately, Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic shooter RAGE is coming back with a sequel that looks more frantic and fluorescent than ever.
The new gameplay trailer boasts several diverse factions, some very distinct environments, huge ugly bosses, lots of purple paint, and about six metric shitloads of bullets. This time around, Bethesda’s putting us into the boots of Walker, the last Ranger of RAGE 2’s wasteland, who – like all good lone-wolf FPS characters – has been robbed blind and left for dead by a faction whose employees we’ll likely be murdering pretty frequently during the campaign.
The first Rage, which somehow was released eight years ago, was developed by legendary FPS developer id Software. RAGE 2, however, sees id Software team up with Avalanche Studios (Just Cause), which probably explains why the trailer above is filled with tons of vehicular chaos and a big focus on open-world insanity. Honestly, Beth already had me at Andrew W.K. playing in the trailer, and I can’t wait to see more.
Rage 2 is coming next year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but we’ll have new details about it on June 10th at 9:30 pm Eastern, because Bethesda is saying they’re gonna blow the roof off their annual #BE3 showcase with a lot more RAGE 2 goodness.
