Steph Curry Was Trying To Recruit Giannis Antetokounmpo For His PUBG Squad. Not The Warriors
Polygon– On Wednesday night, the Milwaukee Bucks visited San Francisco and beat the Golden State Warriors. After the game, injured Golden State superstar Steph Curry had a friendly chat with the Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo. Fans were quick to accuse Curry of tampering — trying to recruit last year’s MVP while he’s still under contract with his current team. Curry says he did in fact want Antetokounmpo as a teammate … but only in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
“All he was doing was giving Giannis his gamertag,” Haynes says about Curry. “For an online game called PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. He said he told Giannis, ‘Come see me on this game — we could team up and do some damage. Let’s do it, come on.’”
Just a couple of guys being dudes on the court. I think this is all a ploy by Steph Curry to ultimately get Giannis to the Warriors. Everyone who plays video games know that is where friendships are built. Some people say business is done on the golf course, but in 2020 it’s done in the voice chat. What’s a better relationship building tactic than a couple dudes grinding away some PUBG and looking after each other on a virtual battlefield? Steph is playing chess not checkers.
