Warzone 2’s Map Name and POI Locations Have Leaked Ahead of CoD NEXT

According to a leak that dropped just hours before Call of Duty’s COD NEXT showcase, we now know the name and locations for Warzone 2’s map.

SPOILERS BELOW FOR WARZONE 2, DO NOT CONTINUE SCROLLING IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE. BUT THEN AGAIN YOU CLICKED THIS BLOG ALREADY SO YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNEW THAT, RIGHT?

Call of Duty isn’t just another video game release, at this point it’s an annual spectacle which has never been bigger. Call of Duty’s COD NEXT showcase is counting down as we speak, but thanks to some incredibly reliable sources (thanks, Tom), we already have an idea of what to expect in Warzone 2.

Right off the rip, we know that Warzone 2’s map is going to be called “AL MAZRAH”. There are eighteen total point of interest locations on the Warzone 2 map, and a sketch provided by TryHardGuides who originally obtained this information details exactly how the island is laid out.

Many of these locations above now have new names, and the full list of all POI locations is as follows:

  • Oasis
  • Wartorn – Now called “Taraq Village”
  • Quarry
  • Oilfield – Now called “Rohan Oil”
  • Modern City – Now called “Al Mazrah City”
  • Caves
  • Dam – Now called “Hydroelectric”
  • Marshes – Now called “Marshlands”
  • Harbour – Now called “Port”
  • Sira – Now called “Sa’id City”
  • Observatory
  • Mountain Town – Now called “Al Sharim Pass”
  • Graveyard – Now called “Cemetery”
  • Oldtown – Now called “Abkdar Village”
  • Shipwreck – Now called “Sawah Village”
  • Fishtown – Now called Sarrif Bay”
  • Fort – Now called “Fortress”
  • Airport

The most interesting part for me about all this is how the island will be laid out. Is this in the middle of the ocean, or is it a segmented part of a desert? We already know this map is going to be themed around the new Modern Warfare 2 experience, so it seems only fitting that it has a modern battleground look and feel.

The full Call of Duty NEXT showcase is about to begin, so I’m about to turn my attention over to that. Got any wants, needs, or wishes for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2? Drop em in the comments or go yell at us on Twitter. Enjoy the show!
