We’re Going (Going) Back (Back) to Skyrim (Skyrim)
Following an absolutely huge announcement this afternoon, Bethesda has unveiled their all-new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, and their plan for an entire year-long event called “Dark Heart of Skyrim”. Aside from having several “R’s” in that name that I’ll be obligated to drop every time I read it aloud, this new event kicked off with an unreal cinematic (per usual). Check it out:
Stop a powerful Vampire Lord from enslaving Tamriel in the Dark Heart of Skyrim, a gothic tale of sinister secrets and deadly betrayals. The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor is the next stage in the epic story that begins with the Harrowstorm DLC and continues throughout the entire year.
Dark Heart of Skyrim, Bethesda
As if we didn’t need any further evidence that this expansion was going to kick an ungodly amount of ass (no pun intended there), it seems like Bethesda’s looking to really yank in any longtime series fans (or even more casual ones) who might’ve only had their last Elder Scrolls adventure with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Given that we just had an entire expansion about dragons, this definitely hits those nostalgia receptors again, and should definitely reel in any holdouts who haven’t given ESO a try yet.
Greymoor includes the new Western Skyrim zone, a new “Antiquities” System, the “Dark Heart of Skyrim” story, as well as new gear, bosses, events, and dungeons. It drops on May 18th for PC and Mac, and on June 2nd for PS4 and Xbox One.
