Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Has Played Elden Ring, Which Means It Actually Exists

Today, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has not only confirmed the existence of Elden Ring, but goes on to say that he’s played “quite a bit” of it.

In the interview with Gamespot, available in full below, Phil says “I’ve seen actually quite a bit. I’ve played quite a bit.” when asked about Elden Ring and when we might see a potential update about the game.

For those who don’t already know, Elden Ring is the next game from From Software’s Hidetaka Miyazaki – the brains behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Elden Ring’s story is being penned by A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin, which has been hailed from day one as one of the biggest dark fantasy collaborations of all time.

“As somebody who’s played all of Miyazaki’s games over at least the last decade, this is clearly the most ambitious game that he’s done.”

“I mean, I love his games, but seeing some of the gameplay mechanics stuff that he’s tackling, he and the team are tackling this time, of the setting, working with another creator in terms of story. I love it.”

Elden Ring was announced just last year at E3, but it feels like we’ve gone about five years without an update on the game. If Phil says it’s good though, I’ll believe him. I’m over here jonesing for an update, and I will tweet at the Elden Ring Twitter account every single day if I have to in order to get some new information on it.

We have literally no idea when Elden Ring releases, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
