For the folks who have been living under a rock, Dave Bautista has been a longtime fan-frontrunner to join the Gears of War movie as Marcus Fenix – a role he was seemingly born to play. Bautista has even said it himself (multiple times) that it would be a dream role for him, but has lamented that Hollywood “doesn’t want him” in the role.

Well, Dave is finally getting his time in the Hammer of Dawn-light, but it seems like (based on the spelling in the ad), that he’ll be in-game as his WWE character, “Batista”, and not just purely as himself. What’s the difference, you ask? This one wears red sunglasses and a speedo on television.

Regardless of who he’s playing, I’m just glad Dave Bautista is getting some recognition as a huge fan of the franchise, and I truly hope this is just one more step towards eventually seeing him in COG armor on the big screen.
