Dead Island 2’s Release Date Leaks, Is Apparently Still Coming Out

According to an accidental Amazon leak just last night, Dead Island 2 is still coming out… And it’s just around the corner.

For the uninitiated, the original Dead Island released over a decade ago in 2011. A sequel, Dead Island: Riptide dropped just two years later to mixed reviews. A few years later, Dead Island 2 – the series’ third installment – was announced at E3 2014 and originally slated for a 2016 release.

What’s happened between then and now, I couldn’t fucking tell you.

At this point, it’s cool to see the sequel finally see the light of day – but I can’t help but think that it might be too little, too late for a franchise that dawned amidst the pinnacle of the zombie craze. Since then we’ve had roughly six trillion zombie games, movies, TV shows… So it’s going to take something really special for Dead Island 2 to not fall victim to zombie fatigue.

We’ll see soon enough, and hopefully we get some new gameplay before the year is over.

Dead Island 2 (allegedly) releases on February 3rd, 2023.
