FIRST LOOK: Super Nintendo World at Universal Japan Opening Next Year

Forgot that Super Nintendo World was happening? Me too. The long-awaited theme park is finally slated to open next year in Osaka, Japan.

Nintendo announced that their theme park is officially opening next Spring, which is still before the Olympics.

“SUPER NINTENDO WORLD” is a magnificent area with the theme of Nintendo characters and their world. In addition to the experiences unique to traditional theme parks such as attractions, restaurants, and shops, the fun of the game has been optimized for the theme park. You can also enjoy an unprecedented “asobi experience”.

(I had to google this, but “asobi” means “playing”.)

Super Nintendo World will feature shops, games, food, merchandise, and classic Mario art and architecture. The “Mario Cafe & Store” will open ahead of the park, on October 16th.

They’ve also got these Mario & Luigi-themed ice cream things… And sodas…

Aaaaaaaand I’m hungry.

We don’t know a whole lot else about the park, and I certainly don’t have any clue about what “Whose Cap?” means or why its branded onto absolutely everything, but Super Nintendo World is sure to be a good time. I’ll be sure to post more from the park as we get it.
