Head Into The Weekend With The Original PokéRap

Welcome back to Friday, folks.

This week, we’ve got a very special musical edition of the pre-weekend blogs, but I couldn’t possibly do this classic justice.

Ladies and gentlemen, Youngsters and Lasses, I present to you – the original PokéRap.

You may be thinking to yourself, wow… That’s called motherfucking bars. I didn’t know anything about that. And you’d be right. Does it matter that half the Pokémon names don’t really rhyme? Absolutely not. James “D-Train” Williams and Babi Floyd (the artists responsible for the hook and the rapping, respectively), made it work. And they made us jam out to this every Saturday morning.

I truly don’t know what compelled The Pokémon Company to try and put together a rap song encompassing all original 151 creatures back in the day, but I’m so glad they did.

And, as a special treat – one of the other biggest bangers off of the first Pokémon album, which I am pretty sure I had on cassette back in the 90’s… Prepare to have this stuck in your head for the rest of your life if you don’t already:

Have a great weekend, everyone.
