PAX East 2022: New Details On Exhibitors, Panelists Revealed
Up until this morning, we didn’t have much of an idea on what to expect from PAX East 2022.
Returning to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from April 21st to the 24th, the East Coast’s biggest celebration of gaming has long been one of my favorite times of the year. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, last year’s event was fully online (the year prior occurred just weeks before COVID had spread as widely as we see it today) – but PAX East 2022 has been in the works for quite some time now and is being hailed by event creators Penny Arcade as a “reunion for the gaming industry”.
But in a time where travel is even more of a hassle than it normally is, and people are still wary of the pandemic, PAX wooing people back to the show for this reunion is definitely a tall order. Now, thanks to this morning’s press release from Penny Arcade – we have a better idea of who PAX is bringing to the dance this year. Highlights include:
- Larian Studios with more updates on the launch of Baldur’s Gate III
- Gearbox Software celebrating the launch of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands “while looking toward the future” (Gearbox has had a history of huge announcements and celebrations at PAX East)
- Devolver Digital will be presenting some new additions to their catalog
- Also: Focus Home Interactive, Koch Media, XSEED, tinyBuild, Intel, AMD, “and more”.
PAX East will also see the return of PAX Arena by hosting competitions in Splitgate and Fall Guys. Last but not least, panels are of course back. Highlights for PAX East 2022 panelists include personalities from G4TV, Catieosaurus, Boston Breach, and “Skyrim Grandma” Shirley Curry.
PAX admits that they were still “shaking off the dust” with their last couple of shows, but that PAX East 2022 marks a “return in glory” for the convention. Proof of vaccination and masks are required to attend the event, so if you’re looking to buy a ticket I’d recommend you review all PAX East health and safety information.
I love PAX East. I’m excited to go back, and I was just wondering to myself this past Friday night what the show would even entail. Now that we have an idea, the hype is slowly starting to come back. Let’s get some after party announcements in the mix, and then I’ll really get fired up.
See you at the show!
