Pokémon TCG Live Is The Next Generation of Pokémon TCG Online

Pokémon’s online TCG presence is getting a major (and much needed) update with Pokémon TCG Live. No date has been announced just yet, but The Pokemon Company says it’s coming “soon”.

This is presumably Pokémon TCG’s answer to MTG Arena and Hearthstone, as “TCG LIVE” features a slick new UI, customizable trainer avatars, a clean interface, and compatibility across PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.

This announcement comes hot off the heels of a massive marketing campaign from Pokémon TCG, which has been enjoying absolutely monumental popularity since its resale boom has decimated local store stock. It seems like PTCG is trying to shift players’ focus on the experiences and memories they’ve made (and can make) with the card game, and perhaps even dissuade them from buying strictly to sell.

As someone who used to love collecting Pokémon cards, but has never played the online game – I’d be absolutely down to give this a try.
