Poltchageist Arrives in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC
This morning, a new Pokémon was revealed on social media everywhere. Poltchageist is the latest arrival in the upcoming Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This jar of matcha green tea is based off an old legend. Where an old tea master died trying to perfect the art of making tea. The result spawned a new species of Pokémon, resembling Sinistea from the previous generation. Like Sinistea, it has it’s own unique swirl pattern on it’s jar. Polchageist can use it’s matcha to put enemies to sleep and drain their life force. Making this a powerful Ghost and Grass type Pokemon. Upon speculation, this Pokémon may learn moves like Spore putting enemy pokemon to sleep, and Absorb, to drain life from them.

Ability: HospitalityPoltchageist takes up residence in old houses where it is sometimes known to patch up broken objects. Its Ability, Hospitality, allows Poltchageist to restore a small amount of its ally’s HP when it enters a battle.

With it’s ability “hospitality” this could be a great choice for double battles. Especially when you want to heal allies in battle. It’s interesting to see how this will be used in the competitive VG format for Pokémon! With Regulation E around the corner for the competitive video game scene. It’s exciting to see how the new Pokémon will affect the meta going forward!
