Warcraft Arclight Rumble Announced, Here Are My Thoughts

When you think of companies that can make you rethink game genres, you probably think about Nintendo and Blizzard. At least I do, anyway.

Blizzard is one of those companies that will slap some of the most iconic characters from across their insane history (or just apply their signature coat of paint and polish) into a genre you previously had zero interest in, and make you want to play it. They accomplished this with Heroes of the Storm, Heathstone, and even to an extent Overwatch.

Now, Blizzard has revealed their latest mobile offering – a strategy title called Warcraft Arclight Rumble.

I’m going to be honest, I don’t know how to feel about this game. It’s definitely a nod to Clash Royale, and it will ABSOLUTELY be laden with micro transactions, but Blizzard is also touting a fully-fledged campaign for both single player and co-op PVE as well as PVP. I’m sure the folks who dump the most money into PVP will have the easiest time with this game (like all the Clash titles and clones before it), but I can’t help but be charmed by the signature Blizzard style.

That is… In the cinematic. In-game graphics look more like a Flash game that you’d find on Newgrounds, so maybe this game isn’t for me after all. I’m not entirely sure if I’ll put much time into Arclight Rumble, but I’ll definitely give it a try.

Warcraft Arclight rumble launches this year for iOS and Android.
