Jeepers Creepers 3 Review: WTF Happened?

When you think about the Jeepers Creepers series, what is it most synonymous with?  Creature Features with some mild bod horror and gore rolled up into a compact burrito of a joy ride in both Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2.  The first movie develops a relative sense of unease as mystery and suspense envelops around Trish and Daryl Jenner…unrelated to the monstrous family that is the Kardashian/Jenners.  Jeepers Creepers 2 helps to deliver upon the built up mystery around The Creeper himself as he ravages a high school football team during the last few remaining days of his stint outside of dormancy.  What does Jeepers Creepers 3 bring to the table you may ask?  A supernatural dramatic spin on The Creeper that literally nobody asked for.

I’ll start by saying, Jeepers Creepers 3 makes SyFy movie quality look like a fucking summer blockbuster with the vast majority of the movie taking place during the say…with the sun out on a bright warm southern day.  The only redeeming visual in the entire movie is of course The Creeper himself with each scene looking as though it was shot by an Emerson hipster in the midst of a school project.  The acting was downright laughable with the only single character that stood out being the overacted Sheriff Danny, who is the embodiment of Danny Glover’s Roger Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon.  He even drops a quote almost too similar to the titular, “I’m getting too old for this shit”.  There is every character trope imaginable on display ranging form the clueless southern belle to the supernaturally sensitive old lady who strikingly resembles Keith Richards.  Each character was completely overacted or so bland and uninspiring they could have been left out or replaced with a sound board.  The extra supernatural addition to The Creeper origin…without spoiling anything made absolutely no sense whatsoever by adding an old magical hand and was just filler to a plot that was riddled with holes in the first place.  Jeepers Creepers 3 was a poor excuse for an attempt at reviving the franchise.  I spent 0 dollars to watch it by using my my sister’s Netflix account and I still think I paid too much for it.
