The World’s Most Expensive Pokémon Card Has Sold
A Pokemon card has been sold for $54,970 at auction, making it the most expensive card of its kind in the world.
54 thousand huh? 54 thousand dollars. That’s bananaland. The dude that sold this card must be the biggest swinging dick on eBay right now. Casually came up for 50k when eating his morning bowl of oatmeal. I’m not hating, I’m just extremely jealous. Having the most expensive Pokémon card is so dope. Cooler than being able to do a backflip, or solving a rubrik’s cube
“The Pikachu Illustrator Card was given in January of 1998 to winners of the CoroCoro Comic Illustration Contest,” said Barry Sandoval, Director of Operations for Comics at Heritage Auctions. “Only 20-39 copies of this card were released, 10 of which are graded in top condition and it is unknown how many still remain with the public.”
And I want to know who this guy is that is able to spend 50 thou on a card. Maybe I’m doing shit wrong because I don’t have 50k to throw around. I don’t have 50k, I don’t have 5k, can someone give me $10? I’m all fucked up after seeing this post.
If someone has one of these cards, send it to me so I can just check if it is legit. I promise I’ll send it back.
Editor’s Note: Shoutout to Chris for thinking a Rubik’s cube is called a Rubrik’s cube. We’re not grading a paper Chris. -Dom
