Apex Legends Game Director Teases “A Ton of Titanfall” Coming To Apex In Season 9

Titanfall 2, released in 2016, is one of my favorite first person shooters of all time. Hell, it’s probably one of my favorite video game campaigns of all time. Unfortunately, Respawn Entertainment seems to have forgotten the franchise that laid the groundwork for its hit battle royale – Apex Legends – to thrive upon.

That is… Until now.

In the below clip, which I needed to paste into a tweet and then post and THEN link back to this blog because for some reason our WordPress setup is hot garbage, the Apex Legends team teases a bunch of juicy non-details that are getting me just a liiiiiiiittle bit excited for what’s to come in Apex Legends this coming season.

“Titanfall is a war story, and Apex is what happens after the war.”

What’s going on in Titanfall is a war, Apex is what happens after the war, like what is life like in this place?” Reed explained. “So we’re trying to integrate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall’s very much a part of the universe.

So what does all of this mean? Absolutely nothing yet as far as I’m concerned. I would LOVE to see some concrete details about Titanfall 3, but considering the cash cow that Apex Legends has become for EA (netting over half a billion in profits already), I don’t see them rushing out to release a sequel that may as well be preordained to make them less money than the hit battle royale.

Apex Legends’ Season 9 is expected to hit sometime in mid-May. We’ll just have to buckle up and hope that we’ll get some great Titanfall lovin’ in the game, and maybe if there’s enough interest… Hints at a potential real sequel.

Until then, a quick reminder:
