Couple Gets Surprise Wedding In Animal Crossing: New Horizons After Coronavirus Cancels Their Real One
Per a post to /r/AnimalCrossing, a couple whose wedding had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak was shocked earlier this week when their friends threw them a surprise wedding… In Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Per an interview with the couple, Sharmin and Nazmul, with Insider – they were set to be married on April 12th, but a global pandemic known as Coronavirus had other plans. Sharmin is also set to graduate from med school in May, and now that is pending as well. Nazmul thought quickly on his feet, though, and began working with their friends to plan a ceremony on their island in AC:NH.
Nazmul set up a trail of arrows leading to the beach on his island, where Sharmin walked up unsuspectingly to see a bunch of their friends (AC:NH allows up to 8 people on an island online at once) standing by waiting for her to walk down the digital aisle. Sharmin says in the Insider interview that “He put some roses down on the floor for me to pick up and a dress to put on and everything. It was honestly all very, very sweet.”

We already knew that Animal Crossing was bringing people together in amazing ways during one of the craziest times in our young lives, but this just absolutely takes the cake.
