Teflon Bobby Kotick Elected To Remain On Activision Blizzard’s Board of Directors, And It Wasn’t Even Close

Per an official SEC filing, Bobby Kotick has been voted to remain on Activision Blizzard’s board of directors for another year.

You know what this means, CUE THE MUSIC!

CAN’T BAN THE KO-MAN! I cannot believe Bobby’s done it yet again. One of the most maligned executive in gaming’s history just can’t seem to stop winning. “Item 5.07 Submission of Matters to a Vote of Security Holders” confirmed what we all could’ve already figured on the above linked document, which details all ten directors who were elected to serve one-year terms on the company’s board. 533,703,580 voted to keep Bulletproof Bob on the board, opposed by a measly 62,597,199 shareholders. Holy shit, right?

At this point, it’s absolutely just flat out impressive and borderline hilarious that Bobby’s still kicking around. We all could’ve assumed that there weren’t going to be any massive shakeups at Activision Blizzard, at least until the ink on the Microsoft acquisition had dried, but holy smokes to have over half a BILLION votes to keep The Ko-Man firmly in his seat just puts into perspective how untouchable this guy really is.

All jokes aside and in brighter news, a proposal about Activision Blizzard’s efforts to prevent abuse, harassment and discrimination was voted in overwhelming majority as well by almost a 3:1 ratio. Here’s hoping the company enacts some actual change to improve the lives of it’s employees, regardless of who’s at the helm.
