Wicked Good Gaming Is Coming To PAX East 2017 (Hopefully)

PAX East 2017 is so close I can taste it. At the time of writing this blog, we’re roughly 41 days, 16 hours, 55 minutes, and 40 seconds away from it. Y’know, roughly. If you’ve never been to the show before, and you live in/around New England – it’s a must see weekend. Vendors from all over the place, great games, incredible indie showcases – all the works. Oh, and the afterparties are the tits.

This year, PAX East 2017 is taking place from 3/10-3/12 at the good ol’ Boston Convention and Exhibit Center, which is sure to have an absolutely monstrous crowd outside like it always does. The weather is typically cold, windy, and made 1000% worse by the event being so close to the water – but we’re used to this weather, so it might as well be a day at the beach as far as I’m concerned.

This ain’t Papa’s first rodeo. PAX East 2013 with my boy @RobSellig.

The point of this blog is this – Chris P (tall and lanky, butthole stanky) and yours truly – Papa Dom – have officially applied for Media badges for PAX East 2017. What’s gonna happen? I have no idea. Are we gonna get approved? I certainly hope so. We’ve been grinding our collective asses off for the better part of the last year to bring you unfiltered, unprofessional, and uncalled-for gaming news and opinions, and we’d like to think that you’ve been enjoying it. If I’m wrong – don’t tell me. Let me have this.

So what’s Wicked Good Gaming gonna bring to PAX East 2017, you ask? Well, kids, the same Degenerate Journalism you’ve come to expect – except it’ll be live and direct throughout the weekend. Pictures, videos, interviews (we hope), and tons of blogs just coming right at your face as fast as we can crank them out. I’ve done PAX for the last five years, several of those as media (sick brag, I know), and it really isn’t an easy thing to cover. There’s so much content to be created, it’s enough to make one’s head spin. But hopefully the good folks at PAX will toss us our very first media badges so we can bring that local flavor to PAX East coverage that you simply won’t (and can’t) get anywhere else.

If we don’t get approved for badges… Well… That’ll suck. But it is what it is, I already got the time approved off from work and I’ll just cop a Friday and a Saturday badge off of a friend (hi Bill). I’m still covering the show one way or another, it’s just a matter of if PAX is going to acknowledge us as a legitimate organization or not.

Ready or not PAX East, Wicked Good Gaming is coming. Keep up with us on Twitter, and subscribe to the podcast while you’re at it. I think it’s dope, but I’m biased.
