Twitch Releases Statement on DMCA Mayhem

After weeks of bans, DMCA strikes, and confusion, Twitch has put out a tweet and a blog talking about what has been happening on the platform.

Here’s the Twitter thread and blog

So what does Twitch suggest? Going through old vods/clips to make sure there’s music in them.. and more important, stop playing recorded music on stream.

It looks like the DMCA’s are not going to slow down but at least Twitch said I’m sorry. The way it was handled was just kind of dropped from the clouds to make sure to abide by DMCA Guidelines. Best we can see going forward is proper tools, and transparency with streamers. But, we’ll take it as a start.
