Halo Infinite Won’t Be At The Game Awards, But Elden Ring Might

I feel like this has become a weekly “where the fuck is Halo Infinite” blog, and the answer is “we still don’t know”.

Per a comment from a 343 employee on Halo Infinite’s weekly Reddit discussion thread, we aren’t going to see The Master Chief at this year’s TGAs.

Obviously, this is once again a massive bummer. I don’t know if they’re just stripping Halo Infinite down to the studs and starting over at this point, or if we’re anywhere close to a tangible update in the near future – but 343 really should give fans something… And The Game Awards are likely the only major outlet to do so before the end of 2020.

But hey – look on the bright side – at least if you buy some Butterfingers you’ll be able to unlock some unique in-game Halo emblems!

Speaking of games that we have no information about – a new rumor from GameRant suggests that FromSoftware’s Elden Ring could make a surprise appearance at The Game Awards – which would be the first major update and appearance of the game since it’s unveiling at E3 last year.

Discussed on the XboxEra podcast by hosts Sikamikanico and Shpeshal Ed on YouTube, according to a source, Elden Ring will be one of the many game reveals expected at this year’s show, finally breaking a long silence since the initial reveal.

The same source indicated that Elden Ring was to be shown at an Xbox event earlier this year, which obviously did not come into fruition.

Rumor: Elden Ring is Supposed to be at The Game Awards – GameRant

This rumor comes hot off the heels of Phil Spencer speaking about his love for the game so far, and saying that he has had a significant amount of hands-on time with the highly anticipated title. If Microsoft is willing to speak so openly about the game, maybe we actually will see it at The Game Awards after all.

I’m sure we’re going to get a ton of incredible reveals at The Game Awards, and here’s hoping Elden Ring is one of them. In the meantime, I wish the 343 team nothing but the best in Halo Infinite’s continued development.

The Game Awards will be broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube on December 10th at 7:00PM ET.
