Head Into The Weekend With Lothar and Blackhand’s Duel From the Warcraft Movie
Listen, you can say what you want about 2016’s Warcraft. But unless what you’re about to say is “that movie was fucking rad” or “the duel at the end absolutely ruled”, then I will not be listening to you.
Here’s Lothar and Blackhand’s duel in all of its glory.
In Warcraft’s lore (and in their Orcish language), “Mak’gora” means “duel of honor”. These sacred duels are normally fights to the death, and refusing the duel usually is even less honorable than cheating during one (which happens earlier in the movie with Durotan and Gul’dan).
Something about this fight, as well as the shows of respect between orcs and humans afterwards, always gets me fired up. Here’s hoping it did the same for you.
Was this film perfect? No. Did I want to see a sequel? Absolutely. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go watch this entire movie back again.
Enjoy your weekend, folks.
