Incredible: The Dog In Baldur’s Gate 3 Has Been Pet More Than 400,000 Times

Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 has been out for a few weeks now, and there have already been some pretty incredible metrics reported from user play data.

Most importantly, in their latest Community Update, Larian has disclosed the following incredible statline:

Everyone knows you can pet the dog in Baldur’s Gate 3, but did you know the dog has been petted 400k times? Such a good boy deserves that many pets.

Community Update #10 – Romance Numbers & Cinematic Tweaks

You can find Scratch, the dog in question, to the west of the Druid Grove on the game’s map. You’ll need to pass a few pretty important Animal Handling checks to earn his affection, but just look at him – isn’t he worth it?

Scratch’s presence at your camp has a number of benefits. You can pet him or play fetch as much as you want, which earns “approval” from your companions (except Lae’zel – who must be a cat person), and he’ll occasionally bring you a pouch that contains useful items, like Potions of Healing.

If you ask me, 400,000 pets isn’t nearly enough for a boy this good. If you want to contribute, go get Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam right now.
