Code Vein aka Anime Vampire Dark Souls has partnered up with the American Red Cross for an incredible cause. Following in the foot steps of the Saw franchise, which has declined in quality significantly over the years, Bandai Namco is allowing for TwitchCon attendees to get something in return this year. Attendees that sign up for an appointment to donate blood will receive a free copy of Code Vein which fits very well into the theme of the game.
In the current state of gaming it is so refreshing to see some good come out of developers. For years now every headline has been emphasized in bold and all caps “(INSERT DEVELOPER HERE) IMPLEMENTS SEEDY MICROTRANSACTION SCHEME AFTER RELEASE!!!” leaving consumers and the general public furious. Every so often we get the good guy publishers/developers that decide to raise money and awareness for the right causes. The most notable and recent being Blizzard selling the Pink Mercy skin in OverWatch to raise money for breast cancer research. So shout out to Blizzard and Bandai Namco for balancing out the perception of the gaming industry.
